Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Angie

Your organization does wonderful work. We have been truly blessed by our addition of Angelina (Angie). She is such a sweet thing and she and her older sister -who was also a rescue from another organization in NY - are inseparable. We couldn't love them more! Angie has been with us since February and we haven't stopped smiling and laughing since with all her silly antics!

Alexi

Daisy (formally Alexi) is everything and more I was hoping for when looking to adopt a puppy. She's playful and loving and is enjoying her new home. She loves going down by the dock and watching the boats go by and digging in the sand at the beach. We love our healthy little pup! Thank you for bringing us together!

Ariel
Ariel

Ariel is doing great at our home! she loves playing with her mouse toys and loves eating food! thank you so much for letting us adopt her. she has made a great difference in our lives. we couldn't live without her!

Audi

We adopted the unbelievably cute Audi and Major (since renamed Kona and Makana) in October and hoped that they would bond and become best friends. We anticipated a lengthy period of adjustment and boy, were we wrong – as it took just a few short hours for them to become as inseparable as biological brothers! These blue-eyed boys play together, sleep together, eat together, and yes, sometimes brawl like siblings. Their favorite game is to chase each other up the double staircase, sprint into the master bedroom and jump up the 6-foot kitty tower to play tag. Their second favorite game is to proudly carry their toys all over the house, bring them over so they can be thrown, and then the process can begin anew. They can do this for hours, trust us! Our thanks to A Second Chance (especially Gemma) for letting us bring these beautiful boys into our lives. They are a true joy.

Annie

Last Superbowl Sunday I was in Petco shopping for fishtank lights.  I never look at the cats, because I would want to take all of them home.  I don't know why I stopped on this Sunday.  I took one look at Annie and the rest is history!

I am still trying to figure out who picked who.

Annie is still her name.  She has been a great addition to our pet family.
