Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Akiva

Akiva, now known as Maddy is doing great. She is a love to have in our house. Our other dog Parker is extremely patient and playful with her, and our cats have accepted the fact that she is going to stay! Thankyou for such a great cause! Darcy Gordon

Amaya

Hello We renamed Amaya Coco with Amaya as her second name to honor her wonderful foster mom Lisa. She is 14 weeks tomorrow and is doing wonderfully. She has been accepted as a "pack" member by her siblings Emma, Jake, and Poppie and is very pleased about that. She is in puppy kindergarten at Petsmart in Lake Park and is at the head of her class. (At least according to her mom and dad). She will receive her final shots on the 21st and is doing well on her trifexis. She has frequent play dates with her friend the Corgi named Ringo. All is well. Aside from piddle accidents she is just about crate trained. Thank you for all you do to save these beautiful animals. When my husband and I retire we hope to be foster parents too. Take care and thanks again Toni and Chris Medvetz

Alex
Alex

Dale and Kathy, We need to get you guys pictures of Allie (Alex as you knew her). I had her at the vet on Saturday, her weight is up to 100.9 lbs (this is about 13 lbs more than she weighed when we got her). You now have to actually look for her ribs. Her spaying incision turned out to be infected, we have had her on antibiotics for the past 2 weeks and it looks great and is healing nicely! She is fitting in well and gets along great with our other animals and our grandson. However, I may never get my couch back as she is n-ow convinced that it belongs to her ;) Let me know if there is an upcoming event that Tina may be at and I will try to bring her up for a visit if I can and if Tina wants to see her. Thanks again for the privilege of having Allie with us!!- Herman Fronefield 7408186398

Alluetta
Alluetta

Her name is now Bugle Ann. Bugle Ann is the name of a Fox Hound in a 1936 Movie. She sits, lays down, shakes both paws, does circles, and sits up on command. She is doing an amazing job with Crate Training and we love her. She brings joy to every day. She has also learned to sit when entering and exiting doorways. She loves her Puppy Playgroup at Animal House of Distinction and she will start school soon. So safe to say she is loved, and appreciated. Thank you! Leslie Kay Drury

Ace
Ace

Hi Kathy, Ace is doing great, too. He loves to play with his sisters, sometimes even when they don't appreciate it ;). He loves to cuddle up with them and is quite the explorer. We have found him in some interesting places in the house (on top of the railing on the loft, inside the couch, etc.) He is so sweet, and we all adore him very much. So happy to have him and his sisters.
