Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Mylo
Mylo

Hello All, Mylo is precious! As my husband said; "Mylo has taken up where Kirby left off". Kirby was our friend for 18 years and we had to let him go in February of this year. Where do I start? Mylo is bringing so much joy and happiness to us all. He is adored by our son and daughter and all who come in contact with him. We have taken him with us on two trips to North Carolina and he loves it! The long walks and cold weather are his favorite. He actually prefers the colder weather. We are still learning so much about him. He loves to play hide and seek with my husband. I didn't know that dogs did that. He is very protective of his domain now. I have bags and bags of toys that have been given to him by friends and family. He is so spoiled and his Christmas stocking will be full too!! Thank you Second Chance for all that you do and especially for little Mylo -- Heather

Mister

Shelly and all!

Hi! I hope you have not forgotten us, we (Jonathan and I) adopted Bagel about 9 months ago. We surely have not forgotten you, you gave us such a great addition to our home and we wanted to provide a short success story for the site.

Bagel is doing so well. He is quite an energetic, excited, and loving puppy. He has become an integral part of both our immediate and extended family. His favorite thing to do is hide his raw hides, using his toys as "markers" so that he can find them later. He is such a character. He also loves to be chased, people or animal. Trips to the dog park involve him jumping at dogs 5 times his size in hopes that they will chase him. His saving grace is that he can easily out run any dog, luckily he never tries to run from us!

We are currently in the process of moving to a bigger home with a yard so that Bagel has the space to play. We are constantly in contact with his vet to ensure that he is healthy (Jonathan would call this me over-worrying). Although he has gone through all of our sandals, at the end of the day, Bagel brings our family together and fills us with much love, and cannot imagine our lives without him, even if that means buying him a new pair of sandals to hide :)
I have attached some pictures of him as he has grown through the months.

With much love,
Jonathan, Jennifer, and Bagel

Misha

Hi Shelley,

Just wanted to let you know that I received the records today. Thank you very much! Minnie (formerly Misha) is doing just great. She really is such a sweet girl. She has quite a challenge keeping up with Mickey who is really much more active than her but they are working it out. At the end of the day when they both "plop" down, they look like two little angels. We are so blessed to have them both. I'm attaching some photos!

God bless,

Amarillys
