Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Gypsy

Hi Kathy, Gypsy is flourishing! She is so sweet and loving. She loves people and animals and they love her! She has gained some weight and her fur has grown in lush and thick. Attached are some pictures of her at the dog park. She is attentively watching a squirrel. Thanks for checking on her. Susanna

Peanut

MIMI is doing great. She seems very happy to just be a puppy!

She weighs 4.9 lbs, as of last Saturday, but by the way she eats I bet she is 5 lbs now. My vet says that feeding 2 times a day is fine however, I do hide a few kibbles of her dry food in her bed each day also, so her blood sugar level during the day does not fall too bad.

Mimi has mastered her mommy bed stairs. We got the pet stairs thru Petco and she took to them right away. I put them at the foot of my bed and then I got to the middle of my bed and gave one good "MIMI come see mommy" and up she came. Going down took a little work she would go the the foot of my bed and bark and yelp. So I took a piece of puppy food and put it on each step going down. Wow that worked!

So, now comes the doggie door. I put her outside the door and called her name and she stuck her head in it and that was it. She gets it! I CAN'T TELL YOU JUST HOW SMART SHE IS! She is 3 months old on Friday March 23rd and it just seems there is no stopping her or her smarts.

Thanks for listening....

Proud mom,
Christine

Halle

Halle is doing great! She has adjusted very well. I did find out shortly after i got her that she is deaf. Other than that she is a healthy and happy puppy!
