Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Rhea

Hello Ms McNeil I'm happy to tell you that Rhea (now Leah) has adapted to us beautifully. Definitively she is a wonderful and happy dog. She really loves to play w/my husband in the morning while I prepare the breakfast. She already owns one of the sofas in the house, and have a special room where she likes to keep her toys (7 at this time). One thing she really loves is to ride in the car; problem is when we get back home, she refuses to get down from it. She likes to get treats to get down, but it's ok with us. She cuddles w/us while we watch movies and follows us everywhere in the house. At night or when we need to go out and can't take her, we tell her to get iin her boarding cage and she goes without complaining. We do not let her loose, because she starts whining and scratching the doors (we already tried). It is the only thing we need to work with her, because we don't like to keep her caged when we need to go out. As soon as we get the photos downloaded, we will send you some. Thanks for our beautiful new daughter. Taty & Rudy

Buttons
Buttons

Buttons is fantastic! He is such a sweet , lovable kitty. He loves to purr in my lap, look out at the windows at the ducks and squirrels and relax on the kitty condo. I love and cherish Buttons. He has adapted well and is a wonderful addition to our family. Please forward this message to Traci Goldberg. Thanks! Priscilla

Valen

Good morning! Valen is doing great!!! We didnt change his name...he already answered to it so we kept it! He is such a little sweetie! We are so happy to have him. He is doing great potty training...a few accidents here and there but thats expected. He is a bit allergic to the pollen so hopefully it goes away soon. It caused an ear infection and the Vet gave us drops. But other than that he is wonderful! The kids are so excited they FINALLY got a puppy! We are leaving for Tn on Friday so Valen will go on his first road trip. Thank you so much for everything. When we return we would love to volunteer at an adoption event!

Fusion
Fusion

Hi, Fusion is doing awesome. We changed her name to Miley :) The kids are in love with her and so are we the adults. The whole street of neighbors know her and love her. She has been a very good girl, few accidents that were expected but other than that not really chewing on things other than her own toys. She has adapted wonderfully to our home and she has proven to be the perfect match for us. Thanks again for bringing her into our lives. Sincerely, Cathy Montelbano
