Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Olive
Olive

Hey how are you doing? I decided to name Olive "Dizzy" since she can't seem to get her legs to coordinated together correctly. She's hilarious some times when she tries to sit and falls backwards or doesn't stop soon enough and runs into me. I love this dog to death and I know she feels the same. We are still potty training, I know she has figured out that going outside is good but she doesn't know yet that going inside is bad. As I said we live on 25 acres and we go on a walk through the woods every day around 4. You can tell her curiosity is growing with her sense of smell and she is becoming more aware every day of the world around her but she still never leaves my side. I know this dog is smart, you can tell by how fast she is learning despite her being over excited most of the time. In the pictures you will see she has a big brother (Broozer) that she is out growing everyday. She loves to wrestle with him all day even if hes not interested in wrestling and she just learned how to get up on the couch so now he has nowhere to hide. She has one more shot that the Vet will call me for. He said shes very healthy. I can't thank you enough this whole experience has completely open my eyes to the work you and other like you do. Take care, Brannon

Tessa
Tessa

Where to begin? Well Kathy I went to Petco to see two other pups. Upon arriving I saw that even at two months they were too big for what I was looking for. As I was leaving another group of pups came in. For some reason Tessa caught my eye. From the moment I held her and got a lick I was done and knew she was the one. I took her home and gave her to the family on Christmas eve. Mostly for my son but also for the family. He was ecstatic. So was my wife and most importantly my mom :). She was concerned I may have gotten an aggressive breed. From the first few days we knew she would fit in perfect in our family. And from day one she was just that, another child to me. Here are some pics of her. The kids named her Princess Coco Chanel :) With my mom

Kandy
Kandy

Kandy is doing fine, Lovey did a great job picking her out. They are inseparable they have a great time romping together in the yard. We love both our dogs from second chance. Sharon Oster Alley

Ian
Ian

Hi! Ian is now known as Buddy. He has been such a wonderful addition to our family! The kids all love him and he plays with them every day. He also loves to cuddle and give kisses. He is learning to play fetch and loves to run and dig in the dirt. We are still working on potty training but he's getting better every day. His crate is his safe place and he will go to it when he wants some down time. He is such a sweet puppy! A perfect fit for our family! Thank you A Second Chance Rescue for our new furry baby! Mango
Mango

Mango is doing quite well. He and my greyhound, Train, have become very good friends and play together throughout each day. He has also been very helpful to us in getting past our grief at losing our Husky. All in all, we are very happy with the newest member of our family!
