Animal Success Stories

As an all volunteer foster-based rescue group, successful adoption stories are the only compensation we seek!  Our Foster Caretakers, who spend weeks or months loving the animals in their care, always want to know how their “babies” are doing once they have found their forever homes.  We hope that the adoption of a pet is not the end of a process but the beginning of a relationship between A Second Chance Puppies and Kittens Rescue and our adoptive families.  If you’ve adopted a dog or cat from us, please share your story!  Success Stories and pictures can be sent to adoptions@asecondchancerescue.org.

Barnes

Barnes (I call him Barney) is doing great. He and my cat love to play together. At first he ran every time when I reached out to touch him. Now he lets me pet him 2/3 of the time. In the last week, he has come up on the couch and laid down about a foot from me and let me pet him. He is getting closer and closer. Soon I hope he will be in my lap. He has a BIG appetite and likes to push my cat, Sammee, out of the way when he's eating and eat his too. He had no manners at all when I brought him home. He had no idea what "no" meant. He knows now. He is also just getting used to hearing his name, and looks at me when I say it. I sent some pictures to Deven, but I will send those and a few more for you all to see. He is a joy, not destructive at all, quiet as can be.....a model cat. (...but you can see by the last two pictures, that he is part frog!)

Kathy, Thank you so much for letting me adopt her, she is a little angel. I changed her name to Bella because she is so beautiful! She is such a good dog, her sponser parents did a great job paper training her - she hardly ever has accidents. I think Bella weighs about 7 pounds now. Everyone loves her and she is a joy to be around. I do not have pictures (their on my phone) but hopefully will get some very soon. Thank you again!

Good Morning, We changed her name to Molly & she is doing woderful, has settled in with the rest of my animals, which consist of two dogs & one cat. My vet put her on meds for her heart condition and she will also have some dental work done in a few weeks. She seemed very sad at first, but we gave her alot of attention & love & now she is a happy little dog. Regards Roberta

Faith is doing great.(Changed the name) She has fit right into the family. She is house broken thanks to the 2 year old dog I have. She is almost 18 lbs already and growing fast. She has seen Dr. Fox and is due for her Rabies on October 17. She was seen by my vet as well and had a bath and her nails clipped. Remind me in an e-mail and I will send pictures at a later date. Thank you Rick, Pat and of course Faith

Usher

We are having such fun with him! We've renamed him Rusty, and my two boys just love him. I can't decide if they think they're puppies or Rusty thinks he's my third kid. :) My older son is learning how to be an alpha and taking care of him. Rusty learned his new name pretty quickly & also learned who the momma was pretty fast & became my shadow at times. We're working on house training & nipping, the normal stuff; but it seems like he took to us & we took to him fast!

Thanks for checking in! I've attached some pictures :)
